Eos is a space telescope concept to be proposed to NASA’s 2026 Small Explorer Announcement of Opportunity. Eos observes the full Cosmic Baryon Cycle, exploring how gas moves through molecular clouds, into the ISM, and through the CGM of nearby galaxies and our own Milky Way.

Eos explores the cosmic baryon cycle by observing key tracers in the FUV: the UV fluorescence of molecular hydrogen and metal emission lines which emit in the FUV. These tracers provide a unique view into the lifecycle of baryons by observing molecular clouds, the injection of material into the CGM from the ISM, and the behavior of CGM gas for nearby galaxies.
